Yes. I've been wondering about those clips since I got Daibouken.

True on the way the belt pieces can pivot, but not about the extra
joint. That second pair of joints is where the wings attach to the belt
in DaiTanken mode.

Eh.. It doesn't pivot much. I think it's just a third spotlight.

That piece hasn't been seen used as a ****eld in the show up to what
I've seen, at least (episode 19, admitedly), but I've found you can get
it out of the way without having parts laying around if you just hang
it by that bar piece it has off of GouGou Crane's Met vehicle. On the
back of the leg and out of the way on Ultimate Daibouken, and on the
back of the torso (nicely filling it out a bit more) on DaiTanken.
Unfortunately, it still leaves you with it laying around for DaiBouken
Buster Mode and all three of GouGou Jet's smaller parts laying around
for Siren Builder jet. *sigh*

As for modes we never saw on the show? Where should I begin?
Zyuranger had additional modes with King Brachion.
* King Brachion towing DinoTanker -- never used
* King Brachion carrying Tyranosaurus -- never used
* King Brachion carrying Dragon Ceasar -- never used
* King Brachion carrying DaiJuujin (as in, without Dragon Ceasar) --
used once, named King
* Tiger, acording to the kana. A bit boggling.
* King Brachion carrying GouRyuujin -- never used

* GoGo V didn't use any of the combinations for the Project Sigma
Machines, other than the fully combined form. Not even individual
modes.

* GaoRanger didn't use the Tank Modes of Gao Bison or Gao Buffalo
I'm not even going to address the power-up combinations, because there
were thousands possible. One wouldn't expect them to hit them all.

* for Hurricanger, the Revolver Mamoth's packaging and instructions
show riding modes featuring the indivitual roboes, Senpuujin,
Gouraijin, and Tenkuujin.

Abarenger similarly had a multituded of possible arm variations.

We have quite a list of unused possibility for MagiRanger.
* Shoot Magiking -- never used
* "Shoot Kaizer" -- never used
* "Fire Travelion" -- never used
* "Wol Travelion" -- never used
* Legend Magi King -- never used (very sadly.. I think the lion head
looks excelent on Magi King)
* the robo form of Wolzard + Unigolon -- never used, and that had it's
very own brand new head, and purple paint aps on Unigolon to blend with
the Wolzard chest. In the absense of ever being given a name for it,
despite it being shown on box and in instructions, I've taken to
calling it "SerafiKaizer", but that's just a personal affectation.
* Fire Centaurus -- never used
* Saint Centaurus -- never used
* "Serafi Centaurus" -- never used
So yes, that's some seriously unseen potential recently in MagiRanger

There will obviously be unseen arm combos for Boukenger, especialy
since four of the vehicles can go left or right, yet we never see them
do that in the show.
