Hi there...
Although participation in this newsgroup has obviously tapered off
recently, I was nonetheless happy to have found it. I read all of the
Pern books that had been published many years ago, and I bought
Dragonsdawn in hardcover when it was first released. For a short
time, I even ran a Pern-themed BBS in ****tland, Oregon, called Cove
Hold BBS! Anyone here remember BBS's? ;)
After that, things changed quite a bit in my life, and I didn't keep
track of the more recent releases by AM, and later by her son. After
hearing so much on the news about the most recent Harry Potter book
release (which I have no interest in, BTW), it somehow reminded me
about those great books of Pern. I found out about all the books that
had been written since Dragonsdawn, and decided I wanted to read
them. But first, I thought I ought to re-read all the books I had
read before, so I did. I was pleased that they were just as exciting
and addictive as they were the first time I had read them! I've
finished reading all the books that I had originally read, and I'm now
about halfway through The Renegades of Pern.
Anyway... I just wanted to introduce myself and say "hi". I'm
looking forward to reading through these "new" adventures about life
on Pern. :)
