Xanadu Weyr lies in the temperate stretches of the Southern Continent,
on the shore of Caspian Lake. Yet, despite the life-giving qualities
of water, it seems that water is causing problems for the Weyr left
and right. Lately pirates have been coming across Lake Caspian and the
Sea of Azov, ferrying themselves up and down the Rubicon and Black
Rock rivers, and causing mayhem in Xanadu's coverage area. Combine the
water-based raids with the increasing re****ts of renegades in the
forests, and its enough for even the toughest Holders to demand the
Weyr do something.
And so, many of the remote holders around Xanadu have been picking up
and moving - To Xanadu, or to one of the large holds in the area.
Xanadu has been working hard to find a solution amongst the
technological advances available at the hold, though the going is
slow, and the possible solutions few and far between. How do you
protect the wilderness?
With the weyrleader****p seemingly failing to do anything about these
attacks, some holders are strongly considering forbidding Search at
their holds, while others think that more riders must come from their
hold, to 'beef up' the rider population. And, as many of these holders
move into the weyr themselves, tensions are starting to run high. To
bring this matter to the forefront is the glowing form of Mellonath,
the gold seeming ready to rise in the very near future.
OOC: Xanadu Weyr's OOC Search opens tonight, June 22nd, and will run
through July 7th, and Mellonath will be rising as the dam tomorrow
evening. There are a variety of plots in the works that will stretch
over the candidacy and weyrling periods. All are invited, and welcome,
to create and apply! There will, however, be no gold egg this cycle.

PernWorld is a Post-AIVAS Pern-based MUSH. In our timeline, AIVAS was
found intact, and Thread was successfully ended. We do have technology
including computers, walkie-talkie style phones, radio transmitters,
and even scuba gear for the dolphineers. There are a variety of crafts
