I finally got my unabridged copy of ATWoP from eBay!!! Some of the tapes
are a little worn, but I am so happy to be listening to this.... so many
details I'd forgotten.
But I have a question. Why is this so rare? Most of the other audio
books
are plentiful, but this unabridged version (when you can get it) sells for
a
lot on eBay because it is hard to find. I have almost all the other Pern
books on tape, and had the abridged (Anne McCaffrey-read) version, but
"lucked out" on this one, finding it in a batch of audiobooks for sale.
Who
decides what is issued & what's not? It seems that if someone is willing
to
pay $172 for this title (not me, but another sale), that the publisher or
whoever would see the demand & reissue it.
Just my $.02 worth.
