Hearken back to a time when life was simple, to when the pleasant
atmosphere of a pastoral society made each day an adventurous but
relaxing challenge - wait. Did we forget to mention the insidious,
mindless killer in the form of Thread, which threatens our idyllic
lifestyle? But never fear! Set amongst the tropical canopy that is
the Southern Continent, Southern Weyr is home to residents and
crafters of all ages and abilities as well as the dragons and riders
of Pern, who protect us from the evil threat of Thread.
Currently in the 11th Pass, Southern Weyr on SouCon Mush enjoys vast
jungles with an abundance of tropical flowers and greenery, plentiful
food and the produce of many different crafts. Oh sure, we have minor
irritations such as plague, tsumanis, deadly red tide outbreaks and
the invidious workings of the Order (the Pernese equivalent to the
Mafia), but what are these to compare with lack of overcrowding,
beautiful scenery and the chance to ride a dragon?
