Some years back when one of the local stations were really struggling in a

timeslot held by what was then a credable and popular Current Affairs show

they decided to show repeats of the Addams Family.  It turned out to be a 
ratings winner and turned said Current Affairs show into a showboating 
tabloid show in an effort to recover audiences.
