Of course physics wouldn't... but the laws would in a circuitous way.
It's observation of natural events that makes people afraid of the
unknown and gods are created to populate the world in order to give
meaning to it.

It's living within the 'the laws of physics' in action that has caused
man to create god.

The real joke would be if 'god' was actually 'out there'! :)

It's good from mans perspective because it imbues all objects and
happenings with 'cause' and allows them to withdraw from the pathetic
reality of our lives which is that all of existence is simply an
ongoing chemical process.

Either way it makes *no* difference whatever. As 'creations' of a god
its motivations would be far beyond our comprehension. What we
consider to be 'cause' might have no meaning whatever to 'it'. I
figure my best option is to lead as good a life as I can in relation
to my cir***stances and hope for the best.
