Just got home from seeing Elvis and The Imposters at the House of
Blues on Sunset.
Wow. An incredible show. Elvis fans, get ready for a great set of
shows.
Elvis came out trim, ready, and in fighting shape to rock. He was all
business tonight. He looked great, his voice was as phenomenal as I've
ever heard it, and the band was as tight as a drum.
He played at least 30 songs! And the beautiful thing was that most of
them were for the true fans, great album tracks that an Elvis lover
dreams he'd play. In no particular order:
Little Triggers: Incredible
The Beat
The Imposter
Party Girl
Riot Act
Lovers Walk
Strict Time
Watch Your Step
Shabby Doll
Uncomplicated
Kinder Murder
Shallow Grave
Dissolve
Welcome to the Working Week
Beyond Belief
Lipstick Vogue
High Fidelity
Motel Matches
Man out of Time
Plus
Alison
Watching the Detectives
Pump It Up
Radio Radio
Chelsea
Peace Love and Understanding
Clubland
Alibi
plus about 3 other tracks I didn't recognize.
The band came out just after 9 and burned through the opening 8
numbers, one right after another, without a break. Incredible.
I wish it was still going on!
It was my stepson's first Elvis concert, and he absolutely dug it. All
in all it was a tremendous gig. I've been waiting for a tour with the
rock band for a bit now, and this surely did not disappoint. I hope he
rolls through the south land again at some point.
