I've seen him 5 times in 5 different venues. Last time was 2 hours, 0
minutes with 0 encores, 27 songs. The next night he did 34 songs in San
Diego when I wasn't there.
The first show, March 1989 (Spike) I believe, he did a pretty long show
and
then added 4 encores of 2, 1, 3, and 4 songs, so everyone got their
money's
worth.
Never met him or talked to him, though. Go to an Al Stewart concert. He'll
stay afterward as long as there are people who want to talk. He is great
with the fans, and even though he doesn't get promoted anymore, his albums
are still outstanding. The 2005 Beachful of Shells is almost the best
album
I've ever heard by anyone, but not quite...not as long as copies of All
This Useless Beauty still exist!
