I saw him in Berlin on his tour with Steve Nieve in sup****t of the
North album. Afterwards, he was out in the lobby of the theater signing
copies of the album for people, and when I got to the front of the
line, I told him how much I had enjoyed the concert, and how much I had
enjoyed him all the other times I'd seen him. He just said, "Thank
you," and perhaps a few other words, but his tone suggested he
genuinely appreciated the comment, and he was equally friendly and
politely - if a bit reserved - with the other folks who were in line
for autographs. That's my only experience "meeting" him, though.
