Clear Channel destroyed two great radio stations I was perticularly fond
of. When I lived in LA the great rock and roll radio station was KMET.
Clear Channel was just starting then. I guess they bgought KMET because it
was the number 1 rock station in the greater LA/socal area. Then they
changed the format to top 40 and lost 90% of their listeners who went to
KROQ, which wasn't ideal for us, but better than top 40 trash.
Here in Texas, we had a great rock and roll station as well, KCAT. Enter
Clear Channel, who decided since we're all a buncha rednecks and hicks
what
we really needed was yet another top 40 country music channel.
Unfortunately, we don't have a KROQ to turn to here. We have a decent
oldies station, but no good rock stations.
Clear Channel can kiss my fat hairy ass.
