i think it is like the best news when someone finds som eone after
years of either being with the wrong one or simploy not happy and not
with anyone.   i got married for the first time last summer.  i am now
46 and my husband is 57/  a first marriage for both of us.   he is a
really nice and gentle man for the most part.   i love being with
him.    but he is not the romantic i am reading about here on the
newsgroup.   a little romantic but no heart shaped diamond rings.   my
orginal ring was picked out by his brother in law who has a lot of
experience and connections in the diamond district in nyc.   the ring
was nice and a very very good stone but small.  1 ct.  ok years ago
that would have been big but i'm older now and i'm a big person.   one
year later, i borrowed on my retirement account and purchased a really
big ring by my standards and traded in the original.    it's a
beauty.    anyhow, being married has it's ups and downs.    mostly
up.  i think the best thing about my husband is that when i freaked
out about being married and simply felt i could not go trhough wtih
it, he gave me my space.  he went back to brooklyn and let me go to
cape town and let loose.    when i returned, something changed.   i
was happy to be home and in my life again.    who knows.  it's all
hard.  marian
