Well, if a program depends on the value of an uninitialized variable, 
then it's a programmer's error.  (And one that can be difficult to 
debug, too, if the compiler doesn't warn about it.)

Or on machines with 9-bit bytes or 1's-complement arithmetic -- if they 
can find one these days ;-o
