Ta - net doesn't have much on her, but she was in Book Two (2004):

"the only girls are the goddesses & Ara, wife of stodgy farmer Omago
who invents the spear?"
http://www.amazon.com/Treasured-One-Dreamers-Book/dp/0446532266

Also from amazon.com reviews:

"Omago's wife Ara becomes a major player in this novel. In the opinion
of everyone who eats her food, Ara is probably the best cook in the
world. But it soon becomes apparent that she is something greater than
an excellent cook. She seems to be more powerful than any of the eight
gods of Dhrall. Even though she hasn't initiated the Amarite invasion,
Ara quickly makes use of it to defeat this second attempt of the Vlagh
to escape the Wasteland.

This volume answers some outstanding questions about the gods of
Dhrall, but leaves others unresolved and even raises still more. Who
is Ara? And who arranged the Amarite invasion? "

"Clearly the Eddingses have gone downhill with age. I had set high
standards for their fantasies, and rightly so, because their first
four serieses (serii?) inspired my own writing and probably the
writing of scores of other aspiring fantasy novelists. Their
characters were lifelike, sympathetic (even the villains!) and had
personalities that reminded you of someone you know. (We all know a
Ce'Nedra. Admit it.) "

(nothing about Ara. I just liked the quote. :)

"I am convinced that this book was *NOT* written by David Eddings. Mr.
Eddings has been called one of the best authors due to the quality of
his writing by Western Mail:
"What separates the grown-up authors from the boys is the quality of
the writing and David Eddings is one of the best" - Western Mail
I don't know who wrote this book but as another reviewer noted, it
seems a bad parody of Mr. Eddings' previous material. I am struggling
to finish it, and will write to both author and publisher to let them
know my feelings. "

Yeah. That's my problem right there. I always said it read like bad
fanfic, I just never noticed Ara was a character in an afec fanfic
from June 2000. She's an Alorn blonde mother, possibly liased with
Belar, and has a daugher Oonaigh, who dies in the breaking of the
world.

Anyone who's read the Elder Gods - do you think he read afec or is
Ara just a coincidence? I'm hoping for the latter,

Ce`Nedra - not sure what Aeen would say about this.
