My brother bought me a copy of PoP when it had just been released; I'm
one of those poor sods who hung out for the release of every single
book of the Belgariad, the Malloreon, the Elenium and the Tamuli... :D
> What other fantasy series have people read/reading?
Hmm... there's been a few over the years! (millenia? perhaps aeons,
gilmae? :D ) Here's an assorted selection from Sephrenia's Recommended
Reading List.... tadah!!
David Eddings: The Belgariad, the Malloreon, the Elenium and the Tamuli
series. Then stop. :D
J R R Tolkien: The Hobbit, The Lord of the Rings series, the
Silmarillion if you can ( haven't finished it in 30 years of
trying... :D )
Ray Feist: The Riftwar Saga, and almost everything that followed...
that'll keep you busy for a while! (Mind you I am currently reading
the new one, Flight of the Night Hawks, and it's a bit more of the
same....)
Lloyd Alexander's Prydain Chronicles.
Philip Jose Farmer's World of Tiers series.
Alan Garner's The Weirdstone of Brisingamen, The Moon of Gomrath,
Elidor and The Owl Service
Susan Cooper's The Dark Is Rising
Jennifer Roberson's Chronicles of the Cheysuli series
Nancy Springer's The Chronicles of Isle series
Tove Jansson's Moomintroll books - yes they do belong on this list :)
Guy Gavriel Kay's Fionavar Tapestry - they're good, but they're not
easy to read; I find them a bit distressing.
Marion Zimmer Bradley's Avalon series.
Tad Williams' Memory, Sorrow and Thorn series
Joanne Rowling's Harry Potter series
Patricia McKillip's The Riddlemaster of Hed series.
