About 15 years ago after a friends husband recommended them.

'Wheel of Time' by Robert Jordan and the 'Harry Potter' books by J.K. 
Rowling.  I tried the 'Dune' series, but couldn't get into them.  Read 
J.R.R. Tolkien's 'The Hobbit' and 'The Lord of the Rings' series back in
the 
early 70's.  Anne McCaffrey's 'Dragon' series and lately her 'Freedom' 
series.  Also McCaffrey's 'Acorna' series and her 'Pegasus' series.

I also like Science Fiction, notably Isaac Asimov's Foundation Series.
