as I said, I read part (around 2/3) of one of his books a short while
ago.  I had previously never (knowingly) read anything by Eddings.  My
reason for subscribing to the group was mainly that I do in general like
the genre, and that I thought that lurking here might get me
recommendations pointing me to other books by him.  Unfortunately it
would appear as though Elenium is generally considered to be one of his
better works, which would imply that there's no point, really.
