The problem is that the dreamers reads like bad fanfic.
The character templates he used before are there purely in template format

with no attempt to deviate even slightly.
There is no narrative tension as all problems are sorted within twenty
pages 
of first appearing.
The Eddings catchphrases of "x did something bleakly" (when a "good guy"
has 
to do something morally wrong to advance what little plot there is), and
"Be 
Nice" in response to banter are used ad nauseum.
I managed the first book, but it was almost physically painful to read.
Spare yourself.
Just tell yourself that there is no Dreamers series. Just as there is only

one Highlander film, and no Star Wars prequels were ever made.
