How is that possible?  The "far inferior" bit, I mean?  I read my first
Eddings ever fairly recently (first in Elenium series, luckily forgot
the title), and I couldn't finish it mostly because I thought dialogue
and pretty much everything else *were* abysmal, easily among the worst
books I have ever read.  And that includes Blyton's Famous Five some
mumble years ago.  Can it *really* get worse?
