Re: Reading the Belgariad Again

by "Carl" <reply@[EMAIL PROTECTED] > Aug 26, 2006 at 09:04 PM

The other word for word shocker was treating Tolnedra "like a defeated
enemy" - both in QoS and PtS. It really annoyed me DR tried to sell
Polgara
as sympathetic to the Tolnedrans immediately after the Battle of Vo
Mimbre.

The reread of Belgariad is going great. At what point do you stop? I'm
thinking after BtS or after the Mallorean.

Another thought has occurred - in the Belgariad, use of sorcery appears
limitless (look what Belgarion did in Salmissra's palace). I recall the
Mallorean seemed to make it seem very limited and that Belgarion really
wouldn't be progressing past killing the bad people with his sword.

Carl :-)
