On second thoughts, were you referring to what generation I'm from? I
know my tastes are about 10-20 years older than they should rightfully
be, but that's the legacy of being the youngest of 5 kids (my sister is
nearly 20 years older than me) and my parents were both in their 40's
when they had me. I've osmotically grown up with the culture of the last
60 years, which when added to the definitely male trait of obsessively
filling one's head with useless information, means I'm probably hard to
date (in more ways than one).
I was once described as "middle-aged" when I was mid-20's (incidentally
by a leathery, mutton-dressed-as-offal 40 year-old) to which I took
great offence, but in retrospect was probably right. I don't know many
30-somethings whose idea of a good night is feet-up with a good book
with my pipe and slippers (and I don't mean legs akimbo with the Karma
Sutra, a crack pipe and a bit of light spanking).
