The best group to ask about the possibility of republi****ng the DE is
the HLP. Good luck with that. Their mouthpiece can be found at
www.dunenovels.com. Just follow the smell and you should figure out
who he is.
As for McNelly, he was a professor in the literature department at Cal
State Fullerton. There are still some there who knew him personally,
and who may help you get in touch with his family. The Professor also
has a tribute site, which you may find helpful. The URL is:
