Dune Disaster? Dread of Dune? Destruction of Dune? Dune Dereliction of
Duty? Derogation of Dune? Or, gosh, how about "Delight of Dune," the
love
story of Paul and Chani? Or "Irulan's Itch," a story of unrequited love?
How about "Diapers of Dune," as part of her chronicle of Paul's younger
years? Or, better yet, "Dunes of Dune: a no-holds-barred look at the
REAL
inside story, as told from beneath the dunes themselves by the sandworms
of
Dune." Maybe they can charge TWICE as much for this drivel by using the
mere word "dune" four times in one title, not to mention alliteration for
fun and profit.
Pah. I am not certain WHY this travesty bothers me more than the others,
but it damned sure does. And I concur - the mere TITLE, "Heroes of Dune,"
makes me want to run shrieking into the night.
