Yes, they may be trying to follow up on an idea that appeared in the Dune 
Encyclopedia which indicates that humans at one point devolved under the 
guidance and supervision of Cyborgs and Robots, I'm not sure.  I don't
care 
for the writing style or content of the prequels.  But are the authors 
making a lot of money off this?  If so, could it be that they know what 
they're doing?!?!?!  Groan.
