I think your first mistake, Splicer, is in thinking that "Herbert" is
trying to say anything with those books. Do we have any real evidence
that "Herbert the Brain" has contributed anything but his name to any
of the books?

They're now trying to play up their next trilogy of books as the
"thinking man's Dune", but I suspect the most thought they themselves
have put into them is how to increase the number of gory depictions of
deaths in Muad'Dib's Jihad.

There's no deeper meaning to be found in their books, IMHO.
