Why did the Honored Mates slag Dune? I know the Bene Gesserit goaded
them to destroy Arrakis, but slagging the planet seemed inefficient. Not
that the Whores were known for efficiency. Also, since they were turning
it into a Molten Ball, why were ground troops deployed? Their wanting
any prize wasn't reference, so was the ground assault just to make sure
their primary targets were planet bound? If so, they failed in that
regard. Anyway, I thought Taraza's death was very poignant. Initially,
it angered me, because I loved the character. But, how cool that after
her legs are shorn off, all she really cares about is the fact that the
Sisterhood had won.
