Hey guys,
It's been a while, hasn't it? I've been checking in on afd from time
to time, but wasn't really planning to ever post anything. However,
given the general reunion taking place... It's like the Scattering
returning around here (though hopefully less destructive).
I did go to CMU for a while, but only to get my Master's (Human-
Computer Interaction, not psych). I now work for Motorola Labs in a
research capacity.
Well, I just dropped by to say hi. Good work on the FAQ, Tony!
Oh, I've been meaning to mention: Though I've been ignoring all of
Brian and Kevin's crapquels since 'House Harkonnen', I did appreciate
'Dreamer of Dune' and particularly 'The Road to Dune'. Some people
have been questioning the authenticity of the 'Spice Planet'
novelette, and I guess we won't ever know exactly how much of it is
FH's and how much those two made up. However, based on some pages of
early drafts of 'Dune' that a kind afder (John?) sent me copies of
back in the day, certain elements are definitely FH's. Some of the
same names, for example, are there in his handwriting.
Regards,
Gunnar
