Dan,
I understand where you are coming from with regard to Duncan. However,
I take exception to calling him an "everyday man."
Duncan was born, raised and served in a world so radically different
than ours that to use the term everyday suggests our definition of the
word. Was Duncan different than most of the society in Dune? I'd say
yes; but, so were Gurney and Hawat.
