Probably...but why tick off the BT? Or go to all the trouble when they
were happy enough to do it for him?

Besides, he loved surprises...and they loved to tinker with the
product.

Also, the fact that the BT were tolerated but despised might have
played a role. Gholas were nasty things, no? Not something for a god
to be involved with directly.
