One of the effects of the detonation of a hydrogen bomb is a
powerful electromagnetic pulse which fries all electronics within the
vicinity.
I wonder why none of the nuclear-armed nations used hydrogen bombs
against 17 and 18 in the Mirai Trunks timeline. While they might be
able to shrug off the overpressure and high speed winds from as close
as a mile from ground zero, the electromagnetic pulse would have wiped
out their electronic circuitry.
