The germans do this _all the bloody time_. _Everything_ is dubbed
there...
I remember a story about John Cleese doing a commercial for german
television, painstakingly learning how to do it in German. Afterwards,
he found out that his voice had been re-dubbed. When he asked why, he
was told that 'that's 'your' voice in Germany. People would never
recognize your real voice'. So, they re-dubbed his german with the
german actor who always did his parts... Strange people. The dutch go
for subbing as well, usually. Even in some TV-programs for kids (the
news for kids is an example, although they only translate the gist of
the message).
