I noticed in the 'Spoiler' thread, people said that Gargoyles aimed too
high
for its target audience.
Would it have a mainstream target in *any* time slot? It's still pretty
bloody
high, if nothing else for the depth of the plot elements. No small
details at
all in Gargoyles. Some series, you can close the door on a part of the
series,
it will only be known in the future for the obvious displayed results.
Also, what if anything on now does anyone find as even on the same tier?
I
enjoy JCA, but it's a very different programme. It has better, more
"lovable"
people than Gargs (really, the heroes are a bit generic compared to JCA's
distinctive ones, and the villians seem deeper personalities) While the
plot
has arcs, they're pretty much season-long "acquire the mystical objects,
face
bizarre twist at end" and the show seems a little non-dark (come on, it
takes
place in America. The foes are mobsters. No guns? Not a drop of blood?
On the subject, how about a JCA-Gargoyles fanfic? Uncle removes the "oni
mask"
from Demona's face. Demona seems bothered.
