I caught SAHARA twice, once at a matinee, and once at a $ theater.
I enjoyed it (which is why I saw it a second time). I'm sure diehard
Cussler fans will moan about it not being exactly like the book, but I
thought it did a pretty good job of capturing the flavor. And, frankly,
having read all the Pitt books, I can't fault them for changing it around
a
little. It's fun, but it ain't Shakespeare, folks. For example, leaving
out the bit with Abraham Lincoln dying in the Sahara desert was a very
wise
move.
One thing bugged me though: Both times I saw it, at the end, when Pitt
is
on the beach with Penelope Cruz's character, he says something to her...
and
it's completely garbled.
Both times in the theater, the line is really murky on the audio.
At the second viewing, I think what he says is "You *DO* throw like a
girl!"
But it's hard to tell.
Just struck me as odd. Both times I saw it, people around me in the
theater, like myself, all said, "Huh? What did he say?!"
I hope they clean up the audio for the DVD.
