Re: Raise The Titanic on Bravo 230PM EST Monday 12/15

I thought the first half was pretty good, but was one of the rare cases
when
the movie was about a half hour too short.

Also the PC of making the Russians much less sinister was a bad thing as
it cut
the whole "Russians take over the Titanic" subplot out of the movie.  The
storm
was mentioned but it never figured in the movie.

I don't think the late Richard Jordan was as miscast as I remembered him,
but
wish they could have cast somebody like Sam Waterston in the Gene Seagram
role.
 The Dana character was a much smaller role in the movie, and there was no
point in bringing up a past romance with Pitt. 

I didn't like how the Russian spy on the Titanic subplot was resolved; the
Silver and Gold story was much more interesting.

I liked the ending where Pitt and Seagram left the Byzanium at Hobart's
grave
as they knew it would be used to make a bomb out of, but wasn't sure that
was a
good idea as the Russians would probably eventually figure out the Southby
link
and would dig it up themselves.

Even though he didn't look anything like Sandecker, I thought Jason
Robards was
perfect in the role.
