fanfiction
is interaction, so it is highly encouraged that you interact.

RULES
Prohibited Actions
0) Interpretations
Everything is open to some level of interpretation. These rules
are
merely guidelines, but still they are in place to keep things fair
and
balanced. [Gets sued by Fox News] Blatantly disregarding these
guidelines will not be tolerated, and if you start pissing people off
you may find yourself on the wrong end of a banning poll. So please
don't squeeze the Charmin.
If you wish to do something that may possibly be breaking a rule,
be
sure to ask someone first. There are some things that are very close
to
breaking rules and should be listed for convenience: illusions,
threats,
dreams, and anything else that would make it so something didn't
happen.
1) Characters
A character can be anything you desire it to be - human, Digimon,
DigiGnome, or even something completely different. For example, your
character could be rock named Air and have WarGreymon as a partner.
There are no limits to how many characters or groups you may have as
long as the primary ones have CGs, but there are some other
restrictions.
Your character cannot be one of the humans or individual Digimon
from
the shows. Your character can have or be a Digimon of the same type
as
those from the shows, but they cannot be the specific ones from the
shows. For example, your character cannot be related to or be Joe
Kido
nor can they have his partner Gomamon.
Chet's note: They probably shouldn't even appear at all, seeing as
how DW is an entirely different continuity. That's just my opinion,
though.
Let's examine for a moment what would happen if this sort of thing
was allowed. Someone could come along and play as Tai Kamiya and his
Agumon if they wanted. But what if everybody wanted to play as Tai
and
Agumon? It'd be utter chaos as people claimed they were the "real"
Tai
and Agumon, so you'd have to limit it to only one person being them.
But that would be favoritism, and everyone would be jealous of Tai
and
Agumon's player and people would complaining all the time. But with
this restriction in place, no one can be Tai or his Agumon and
everyone
is free to express their own creativity.
2) Digimon
You can use any Digimon you wish for anything (barring the above
restriction, of course). Digimon can have any number of tamers you
want
or even none and there are no restrictions on Digivolving either.
Feel
free to have a Gallantmon with five tamers that Warp Digivolves into
Footstoolmon. Fusion and Spirit Evolution is also allowed.
3) Death and Destruction
Destroying anything you didn't create without permission is
prohibited. Things from the shows may absolutely NOT be destroyed.
You
can kill someone else's character, but only if they give you
permission
to do so first.
4) Violence
Since most stories that are not comedy revolve around fighting to
one
degree or another, violence is virtually unavoidable. But there are
limitations. Just about anything is fair game, as long as you don't
go
into visceral, disgusting, or otherwise offensive detail. In short,
if
it wouldn't happen on the shows it won't happen in DW!.
5) ***
Lookin' for a little somethin'-somethin'? Some booty that may or
may
not be of either the pirate or baby kind? If you're looking for some
hard or even softcore ****, hentai, ecchi, whathaveyou, then boy are
you
in the wrong place. DigiWars is not the place to be expressing your
***uality in an obvious manner. That's not to say that your
characters
can't have ***, we just don't need to know all the lurid details.
Have
a sense of decency! You can lead up to it, but please don't show it
to
us. This ain't ****ography class, you know. Think of the children!
Won't someone please think of the children!?
6) Omnipotence
What is omnipotence you say? Omnipotence literally means
all-powerful. This is not allowed in the least. It may be fun for
you
(at first), but it's not entertaining in the least. You can't always
win or always have things go your way. In some cases you probably
shouldn't even always walk away unscathed. Go for some realism,
folks.
At least make it look too easy.
7) Interaction
Yes, there are rules regarding interaction as well. While sudden,
unexpected turns of events always make things more interesting, they
might not be what the other person wanted. Always ask before doing
anything drastic, like making their characters fall in love, moving
them
long distances, or stealing im****tant items from them.
8) Consequences
At the moment there are no direct consequences beyond an almost
guaranteed drop in your popularity and possible boycotting or your
work.
However, should it be deemed necessary and you have received
sufficient warning beforehand, a poll regarding your possible
banishment
from the DigiWars will be initiated for those who flagrantly
disregard
the rules and guidelines. So far, being banned means nothing more
than
being ignored by other players, but should there be a website or
other
record of DigiWars posts, stories, and events, all banned authors
will
be discluded from it and their work will cease to be recorded and
possibly removed.
9) Psychic Powers
Everything is allowed short of omnipotent psychic powers and
reading
someone else's mind/forseeing their actions without permission. Feel
free to levitate and set stuff on fire, so long as it's not of
apocalyptic pro****tions.
10) Non-Continuity
Anything can happen in non-continuity, maybe even things that
would
otherwise be against the rules. That's because non-continuity
stories
are not part of the main continuity and therefore have no effect on
it.
While this is allowed, don't abuse the non-continuity privilege.
If
you want to write Digimon fanfiction without having to follow the
rules
of the DigiWars, then don't write for the DigiWars.
Actions Frowned Upon:
0) These are not rules, but it is suggested that you not do any of
these
things at the cost of your own popularity.
1) Tags - While not necessary, it is highly encouraged you use tags
for
your posts. Tags make it easier for people that want to read DW! to
tell DW! posts apart from normal ones and makes it easier for those
that
don't want to read DW! to avoid those posts. Here's the most
commonly
used ones:
[DW!] - The DW! tag. It means that this post if DW!-related.
The
exclamation point is optional.
[FAQ] - FAQ's, such as this one. Short for "Frequently Asked
Questions," which this do***ent will fit once people start asking
questions. Chet's note: ^_^
[CG] - Character Guide. Basic info about a character or group.
Usually these are only posted once and occasionally updated, but the
information rarely changes much. Character guides should be posted
before you post your stories so that readers have an idea of what
your
character is like(such as appearance and personality), but it's not
that
big a deal.
[NS] - Non-Story. This tag should be used for replies that don't
change or alter the story and general discussion of anything
DigiWars-related, like comments and announcements.
[NC] - Non-continuity. Story posts that are not part of the
main
DigiWars continuity.
2) Profanity, Slurs, etc.: Say whatever the **** you want, as long
as
it doesn't break any of the other rules.
