DEV-O 3-D: PPV or DOA?

by "Dr. Strangemonde" <dancing@[EMAIL PROTECTED] > Mar 29, 2008 at 03:57 PM

Greetings from the far-flung future of 2008, Spudlings and Spudlites!
I come in peace with a question about your ancient world...

Okay, enuff with the advanced-cilization dude schtick --- I was just
tryin' to figure something out; as I recall, among the slings and
arrows cast at our heroic DEVO members was a court decision which
required that they actually DESTROY ALL EVIDENCE of their 1982 (?)
tour footage that was shot in 3-D for purposes of making a long-form
video to be watched in three dimensions with the red & green anaglyph
gl***** 'n' all.

As both a DEVO-tee and a 3-D freak, I weep at the thought of this
transgression. HOWEVER, it seems to me that I've run across evidence
that the 3-DEVO show was actually broadcast at least once, in a pay-
per-view format or some similar sort of syndicated manner. Wouldn't
that mean that, even if the BEST materials (master tapes, etc.) were
indeed taken from us forever, there would still be SOME level of 3-D
Tour Program Product yet remaining? Like a tape somebody made off the
air with their brand new, top-of-the-line top-loading $600.00 mono
Betamax VCR deck, at least?

What is the Truth behind the Trickery; the Reality underneath the
Ruckus; the Actuality obscured by the A-hologram? Anybody?
