Mainly based on hearsay.  I'll often read articles about
him where the writer will refer to him as a liberal.  But,
IMO, he comes across as a pure comedian who will always
go for the laugh.  I heard Al Franken interview him on
his Air America radio show.  Stewart seemed receptive to
Franken's liberal views but he wasn't particularly agenda-
driven himself, IIRC.  Callers would phone in with a liberal
axe to grind and Stewart would just make fun of them.
