EXCLUSIVE: I'LL BE **** WITH LOVELY CLEAN TEETH
Jan 8 2006
EXCLUSIVE STAR BRUSHES WITH DISASTER
By John Millar
HOLLYWOOD stunner Tea Leoni yesterday revealed her most
treasured possession -- an electric toothbrush.
The 39-year-old claims it is the one item she would save if
disaster struck at the home she shares with her husband,
X Files star David Duchovny.
Tea said: "We live in California so we think about earthquakes
all the time -- and there is this big quake coming, apparently.
"David has quite simple tastes, as I do. I'm still very
excited by my electric toothbrush that I got when I got a
pay cheque that could cover my rent. And David has a couple
of T-****rts that he really loves.
"I suppose when the big one hits he will probably be wearing
those and I will be ****d with my electric toothbrush."
But Tea, who has starred in blockbusters such as Deep Impact,
Bad Boys and Jurassic Park III, admits there is one other
precious item she would rescue -- her husband's beloved kilt.
The actress and the couple's two kids, Madelaine West, six,
and three-year-old Kyd Miller, share David's enthusiasm for
his Scottish heritage.
His mum is from Whitehills, Aberdeen****re, and the actor is
so proud of his roots that he owns the full Highland regalia
in the Ancient Hunting McFarlane tartan.
He's worn the kilt many times, including on hit US comedy
The Larry Sanders Show and at the Royal premiere of his
movie Return To Me in Edinburgh.
Tea said: "Isn't that kilt fabulous? I make him put that on
sometimes."
The star's next movie is comedy Fun With Dick And Jane
alongside Jim Carrey. The film -- a remake of the 1977 hit
starring Jane Fonda and George Segal -- follows a millionaire
couple who turn to crime after losing their fortune.
Tea claims she was attracted to the project as it is an
outrageous spoof on the modern have-it-all society --
particularly a scene where she has a botched Botox job.
She said: "It was great fun. It is poking fun at glutinous
vanity -- cosmetic surgery now advertises you can rush and
get it done during your lunch hour." Another highlight is
the scene where she and Carrey dress up as 60s icons Sonny
Bono and Cher.
Tea said: "They got all of these original Sonny Bono suits,
so, just so that I could be a true thespian, I said I would
try one on.
"It fit like a glove. Do you know how embarrassing that is?
Most women would say they were 36-24-36. No, I'm Sonny Bono.
That's my size!
"I wore his suit in the film and wore another of his suits
at the premiere.
"In fact, that's where I'm shopping now... in the Sonny
Bono vault."
Despite both having hectic work schedules, Tea and David
spend as much time together as possible and they will
celebrate their 10th anniversary next year.
And Tea insists it isn't too hard to juggle being an actress,
wife and mum.
She said: "People have asked about being a mother and that
balance.
"It would be much more difficult to go into an office
and work 9 till 5 for five days a week.
"Making movies means I'll do some crazy hours and some
intense work for a couple of months but then I'm off the
other 10 months of the year, so it works out quite well.
Then I can be with David when he works."
Fun With Dick And Jane is released on January 20.
