I went to the first show today and was pleasantly surprised. I feared
the worst after some of the bad reviews & my own concerns about Robin
Williams. As it turned out, I thought RW did a great job. I don't know
how any critics could have a problem with his performance. I'm not a
fan - I usually mute or turn the channel whenever he does his stuff on
a talk show or award show - but he was very restrained and sweet.
It was a lovely story and I liked the look & sound of it right from the
openning credits. There's nothing amatuerish about it. I don't know
anything about film budgets but I thought it looked great for the 7 or
million it cost to make.
Anton is as good as they say and Zelda Williams is adorable. Everyone
does a great job - Tea & Erika Badu (sp?) both seem very real.
The best thing I can say to pursuade people to go see this movie is
that it has less DD than I would've liked but I DIDN'T EVEN MIND - the
story is that good. (And he's is gorgeous when he is on screen!)
Go see this movie!
