We haven't had a new post here since October 29th. I'm just saying.
So, uh... how 'bout that Dave, eh?
Oh, okay. Here's a silly question as a result of me sifting through
old papers to give past professors material for recommendations: Has
anyone cited Dave in an essay? And what was the context?
Mine was a cultural anthropology essay on comedy and the construction
of national audiences and identities. The quote was something he said
about fans in a TVO Studio 2 interview 5 years ago
(http://www.kithfan.org/kith/interviews/dstudio2.html):
"I think-- I miss doing the live shows with the guys. I think I'm
probably old enough now that I'm really romanticizing the early days.
But it seemed that people who like the show really felt an affiliation
with the show. Y'know, that there-- we were all in on something
together. And fans of the Kids In The Hall really do approach us as if
we were a part of their social group. You know, there's not a real-- a
real distance between us, and that's kind of a nice thing."
He gets it. And he unintentionally helped sup****t my thesis. <g>
