Boom, you have to look. This gentleman is Canadian. No real military so
to
speak. And with his logic, you would wait until after a threat to
national
security was made before putting together a military.
Let me clarify something from history. In WWII, Japan signed a surrender
ending the war with them. Part of that treaty called for them to never
again have enough military forces to launch attacks on other countries,
only
to defend their borders. They kept to that agreement. If they hadn't,
the
US and its allies would have continued to bomb them back to the stone age.
After Desert Storm, which I volunteered to serve, a treaty was signed
ending
the war. Part of that treaty stated that there was a very limited
airspace
in which the Iraqi military could fly. This was signed by all countries
including Iraq. If they did not keep to that agreement, the US and
coalition nations had every right and responsibility to bomb their asses
back to the stone age (approximately a week back in time in some cases).
Unfortunately, the Clinton administration failed to act severely after
several incidents. They also allowed Iraq to delay the UN inspectors from
inspecting anything. Here's the deal folks, they lost. Even though it is
their country, they have a responsibility to maintain good order and
discipline in their country, and to keep to any agreements made. Pretty
much, the world population as a whole has said, "Iraq is a threat, and we
have a responsibility to all the world's citizens to decrease that threat.
Here is a simple solution. Iraqis that want to deal with the world's
population like adults, feel free to come out and play and make friends
and
feel welcome to share your culture and philosophy and art. Those that are
xenophobic and can't grasp that their way isn't the only way, stay inside
your borders, conduct your business and life as you see fit THERE. Do not
cross the borders, travel, nor interfere in anyone else's lives. We can
respect that.
I harbor no ill will towards the Iraqis in general. Most people in any
given country are happy just to live their lives in peace, raise their
families, and not start a bunch of crap with others. Unfortunately, it is
the few that are out there that decide to foist their beliefs on others
that
mess it up for everyone. It wasn't right during the Crusades and it is
not
right now.
Just food for thought.
