Obviously the answer is "yes, he's and idiot".
The Democrats have increased the military budget and haven't
interfered with the handling of the war in any way, despite the voters
wanting them to.
But then usenet Republicans can rationalize _anything_. Hell, they
can even retroactively rationalize blame so that the Democrats will be
responsible for the quagmire we've gotten ourselves into in Iraq.
When it comes to rationalizations, no one can hold a candle to
usenet Republicans.
