I have one OS. I'm thinking about putting the DOS 6.2 OS on my drive.
I had that OS and loved it's simplicity, all on a 400meg HD.....put all
kinds of programs on it. My favorite is "Rise of the Triad" ROTT....
I have the America's Army game, put out by the Army. Not one drop of
blood is shed. ROTT on the other hand has blood all over the walls ceiling
and floor. When hit with a bazooka round there's limbs and eyes flying all
over the place. Burnt by a fire jet....one bursts into flames, and falls
to
the
floor as a chard black skeleton...tinkle tinkle tinkle.....LOL.....
No long file and directory names. Eight characters max......
Then Windows 3.1 showed up and I had to get a larger drive....
And things went downhill from there......
I was still running it, ROTT, on all changes to the OS. Up until the
latest change.....I'm going to miss that game.....
I'm not talking about networking. I'm talking bootup....
Grub is a worm in a yard......and in a computer ......
When I changed hard drives. The Grub was still there on bootup.
Okay. Tell me, what command should I have used to boot mine.....
In case it happens again I'll know.....all kinds of commands.....
I booted to safe mode in the Admin sign on...
Went to "My Computer" and saw (Drive J), I thought huh! "That's my
BusLink. It's not connected!"
I opened it and it was empty. It was smaller than 80gig. I looked at
the Security and there was 'the works'. EVERYBODY, ANONYMOUS,
ALL USERS, USERS, POWER USERS, ADMINISTRATORS ......etc.....
I formatted it, and got rid of all the 'privilege's. Connected my BusLink
and it took, it's rightful place. All the data was there, with privileges.
I
transferred some files and have since disconnected it and it's not
showing
up in My Computer.
It wasn't my BusLink. Someone obviously 'mounted' a 'new' drive.....
Personal computer? Like ****....!
