EL TOPO - THE COMPLETE SOUNDTRACK RECORDINGS
There were TWO different LP releases of music from the Jodorowsky cult
film
masterpiece, EL TOPO.
The first (and more common one) was released by Apple Records and was the
"official soundtrack" of the film, containing studio version of the
haunting
background music.
The second (and much rarer one) was released by Douglas Records and was
performed by a jazz-rock fusion band called SHADES OF JOY, headed by
saxophonist / flutist Martin Fierro. It is not the actual soundtrack, but
some
often wild jazz improvisations based upon and influenced by the film and
it's
soundtrack.
Both releases have been out of print since the early 70's (just like the
film),
but SUBTERRANEAN CINEMA is proud to offer, for the first time anywhere,
the
complete EL TOPO recordings in MP3 format.
