Conan at Deepak Chokra: high point of astounding night

by nebusj-@[EMAIL PROTECTED] (Joseph Nebus) Jun 19, 2008 at 12:38 AM

I'd have thought the Conan at Deepak Chokra segment would be
the comic high point of Tuesday evening. Heck, Conan going on a
journal to find himself is practically writing a valentine to us.

The reference to wanting to blame his father for everything
is interesting and I think allusions like that have been made before.
No telling, of course, whether Conan has any actual harsh feelings
for his father beyond what anyone has, or whether he just knows a
good comic starting point when he sees it.

And then ... you know, I *knew* that the Masturbating Bear
would come up when the idea of Late Night Toys was suggested. What
probably would have been a weak piece was honestly salvaged with the
disgusting-funny clam chowder incident.

Actually, I was going back and forth to whether these might
be actual Late Night Toys. The Vomiting Kermit was the unavoidable
strike against, though: there might be some way to talk the NBC
Store into selling Gyne-O-Blast and the Masturbating Bobble Bear,
but no way that Disney would license a Vomiting Kermit doll.

And then the interviews got endlessly loopy. Weird show.
