Conan: The Musical is indeed a real thing, to answer the query
which dominates the start of Friday's show, at lest to the extent such
things can be said to be real. (And I find that I discovered this about
seventeen months ago, which is interesting, albeit only to me, because
my week has been dominated to this point by something else which I first
learned about seventeen months ago.)
From the East Valley Tribune Dot Com, which appears to be based
in metropolitan Phoenix, Arizona:

four Arizona State University students started out with a 13-minute
short imagining what if Conan lost his funny, and describes how he got
it back.
The official site, including a local-newspaper containing a
review of the effort, is at:

And the trailer which Conan watched tonight and which left him
looking as if he'd been slapped with a fish is at:

The current Official Trailer, and a bit more complete about just
what's going on, is at:

(And it's looking really professional too.)
