The New York Times re****ts a tentative deal to end the strike
is ready:

``Everybody is telling everybody to come in Monday,''
Jeff Ross, the executive producer of Late Night With Conan
O'Brien on NBC, said Friday.
That's wonderful news all around. However, I do hope that the
burst of childlike imagination and joy which the strike brought out --
and such choice things as the mobile desk and having an actual MIT
physicist on to figure out how to make a ring spin longer -- aren't
soon lost or forgotten.
The strike shows have given Conan O'Brien a wonderful period:
the sort of free-ranging creativity and play of the early days when
they had no idea what they wanted the show to be, combined with his
mature talent in making whatever he did look sensible. There's almost
a textbook in how to make a compelling show here.
