A friend has asked me to look for an old movie that she liked, but has been
unable to find. I've searched, but haven't found any reference to Brody's
Revenge, but perhaps someone here will recognize the plot that she
described, and can send me off in the right direction... Here is her
description:

I don't hold out much hope that you would know about this one, cause
really, no one, and I mean no one knows about a movie that I only know
as
Brody's Revenge. It was in the 80's that I saw it, late at night on TV. I
have tried to find this movie by movie plot, because I think the name
that
was given as the name of the movie isn't the right one, as crazy as that
sounds. The first time I ever saw it I remember thinking that it was a
stupid name because there was no one named Brody, and I didn't see where
the revenge part came in. The way the movie starts out is with a older
man,
dressed in old jeans and I think a flannel shirt and a cowboy hat, unhooks
a
gate and walks into a pasture where an old broken down horse is standing.
He looks at the horse and raises a rifle and aims it at the old horse,
and
just stands there, and you know by the expression on the mans face that
he
doesn't want to shoot the old horse, and its causing him great pain to
have
to do what he feels he should do, and then he lowers the rifle, and
starts
thinking back ..... and that's how the movie starts. The rest of the
movie is shown in flashback.... The next seen shows the man as a much
younger man in an aircraft carrier, flying over enemy territory in a WWII
army uniform and the plane is being shot at, when suddenly its hit and
is
going down....well, he and his fellow army buddy's have to jump for it,
( they have parachutes ) He jumps and survives but is badly injured. A
family finds him and takes the man to their home putting themselves in
great
danger because if the Germans find out that they are hiding him, the
whole
family could be killed for helping him out. They nurse him back to
health,
and discovers that these people ( not sure what country he is in, maybe
Turkey ? not sure and I don't think its ever really known) but anyway,
they have horses, and they train these horses to do certain things to
help
them in battles......... like laying down even when guns are going off so
the horse shields them from the bullets of their enemy...... and other
things which I don't remember too well......... Well the man is pretty
well trapped there, there is no way to get to the border of this country
safely because the Germans are everywhere, but then the man befriends a
boy
and the boy tells him that he knows of a way to get to the
border.........and that he could show him but he would have to take him to
America with him if he could get them both to the border. After
weighting
the odds, he takes the boy up on his offer and the man and the boy and
the
horse set out for freedom.......... well along the way they encounter the
Germans and a few times they barley get away, the horse playing a big
part
in their escape.......... just short of the border, the boy ends up
getting
killed, and its just the man and his horse that make it out.... ( this
is
why the older man at the start of the movie cant bring himself to shot his
old horse who saved his life ) Anyway, that's about it, and I cant
remember how it went when it went back to where hes trying to put the
horse
down...
