Paul Thomas, Christy Canyon to Join Hustler Hollywood Walk of Fame

LOS ANGELES - Hustler founder Larry Flynt will induct adult film
legends Paul Thomas and Christy Canyon into its elite Walk of Fame on
Thursday, July 26. The ceremony will be held at the Hustler Hollywood
store on Sunset Boulevard at 9 p.m.
The Walk of Fame outside Hustler's upscale Sunset Strip boutique has
immortalized the hand prints and signatures of 20 adult industry
luminaries.
Larry Flynt, Marilyn Chambers and Ron Jeremy were the first to be
inducted on December 3, 1998, followed by Seka and Screw maverick Al
Goldstein (April 1999), Ginger Lynn and Herschel Savage (December
2000), Gloria Leonard and Bill Margold (January 2002), Jimmy Flynt and
Sunset Thomas (June 2002), Jenna Jameson (April 2003), Harry Mohney
and ****sche Lynn (October 2003), Sharon Mitchell and Jeff Stryker
(January 2004), Nina Hartley and Randy Spears (March 2005), Veronica
Hart and Eric Edwards (March 2006).
Thomas started his adult career as a performer in 1974, moving into
directing 13 years later and soon forging an alliance with Vivid Video
that's still going strong. He has been responsible for some of adult's
most celebrated films, including Justine: Nothing to Hide 2 (from
Metro Studios), The Masseuse (both the original and the remake), Bobby
Sox, Blonde Justice, Bad Wives, Artemisia and last year's Emperor.
"My first reaction is, I wouldn't want to belong to any club that
would have me as a member," Thomas joked to AVN. "But once I get past
that, it's cool, you know … I'll be there forever. I still don't know
if they want to put my hands in or my schmuck, or what. I'm more
concerned about where Larry's gonna take me to dinner afterwards.
"It's a two-edged sword, our business," Thomas continued. "We're
celebrated to be the greatest ****ers of all time; it's great, it's an
honor, I'm really happy about it … and it's weird! But the person at
the top is Larry Flynt, and what he's sacrificed, and his dedication,
just to be honored and aligned with him makes it good. To be in the
same slab of cement as Ron Jeremy, I don't know if that's gonna get me
off."
Christy Canyon, who now co-hosts "Night Calls" on Playboy Radio with
Ginger Lynn, entered the business in 1984 and appeared in about 200
adult titles before retiring from performing in 1997. She was a
longtime contract girl for Vivid, and is a member of both the AVN and
the XRCO Halls of Fame. She self-published an autobiography, "Lights,
Camera, ***!" in 2003, and now directs for Paradise Visuals.
Ms. Canyon could not be reached for comment at press time.
