Hello, all!
I am taking a French class, and wanted to download the Christina et. al.
version of "Lady Marmalade", but found to my dismay that iTunes,
Napster, Walmart, everyone *just* changed it so that you can't purchase
the "Lady Marmalade" MP3 single, but instead have to purchase the whole
_Moulin Rouge_ album.
Does anyone have any idea why this change was made? I would guess that
it's the most popular single on the album, so they want to maximize
profits by forcing you to bundle it, but that would just suck if that
were the explanation!
I decided I wasn't going to spend $11 when I really just wanted to spend
$1, so I bought a Patti Labelle version. I like Christina, but if the
above reasoning is the actual reasoning, I hope everyone does what I did
so the record companies aren't rewarded for their greed.
Any responses would be appreciated.
Sincerely,
--
